The cover to TONER, the new picture book i released last weekend at the comic-con. Originally, there were suppose to be 250 copies printed, but because of lack of funds, only 116 copies were made. Each cover was a hand pulled silkscreen, printed with metallic ink(cause shiny things are cool). All 116 copies sold out by saturday. Thanx to Lou Lima of SNAP Skateboards, Ian Ameling, and Roxanne Zuniga. Without their help, TONER would not have been possible.
TONER will go into a second printing in some form or another. TONER is very a very expensive book to produce, so i'm trying to find a way to keep the cover price reasonable, without myself going bankrupt at the same time. One idea is to include it with my new comic magazine to be released April 2005. I may reprint it oversized with GEM, so people can see GEM in high quality and full sized, the way it was meant to be seen. Or simply just reprint TONER as is. I don't know.
As for the new comic coming in April, it's going to be a collection of 3 short stories. It's in the beginning stages right now, but expect updates in the coming months.

IT STINGS

The illustration above was used as an editorial for Computer Gaming World. It was printed about 3.5 inches square and placed on the last page of the magazine. Apparently, the image is causing a causing a little bit of reaction, and a few passionate letters were written to the CGW editors. Here are the highlights.
"Well its not so much about the article, which I have no qualms about but the illustration.Whats the idea of depicting some kind of ghoulish character forcibly scooping out the eyeballs of a woman who says "it stings", while your article does not refer to any woman."
"Whats the message?? Such acts does not really inflict pain on others?? on women?? Torture is alright?? They say no but in fact the like being raped? Be a bully? others dont mind?. A picture is worth a thousand words and the words your image carried are none too funny. Except maybe to serial killers or serial killers-in-training. Again your article do not even refer to any women whatsoever, other than your wife, poor her."
"And although I >hate< when gaming magazines are dumbed down because kids read them too, I wouldn't want children to look at that illustration. I take issue with our industry thinking people shouldn't see the outsides of people, but it's perfectly okay to show the insides. Call me crazy, but I'd rather see a boob than a bloody optic nerve being pulled from its socket. And the fact that it's a man doing this to a woman adds an even worse connotation to the illustration. I think the editor who approved that picture needs a talking to, and whomever requested the artist do it needs one as well."
